BIB COLLECTION

Bib Collection will be at Lane Cove Public School outside the school hall on:

  • Friday, September 8th from 6pm until 8pm
  • Saturday, September 9th from 11am until 1pm

Any packs not collected will be available on Race day, however, due to the number of entries you will need to allow plenty of time to collect your pack before your race time.

LATE REGISTRATION – After midnight, 7th September

If you missed the online registration (closing midnight, 7th September) then you can still register at Bib Collection (times above) or on the day (see below.) Please download the Late Entry Form. A form will need to be completed for each competitor. Payment can be via credit card (which will be processed on the day or Monday morning) or cash.

REGISTRATION on the DAY

Please note that late registrations are limited. We set the number of bibs 2 weeks before the event based on online registrations at that point. Last year the 2km event sold out.

Race Day Registration will be open from 6:30am. Please print out and complete the Late Entry Form for each competitor and come with cash or credit card to the Bib Pick Up tent. Be early!

BIBS and TIMING TRANSPONDERS

Bibs will need to be securely fixed to the front of participants t-shirts. Timing transponders are located within the bib.

Please make sure that you listen carefully to marshals and are ready to race.

10km event START TIME: 7:30am

5km event START TIME: 7:40am

2km event START TIME: 8:40am

RACE FACILITIES AND INFORMATION

Water Stations

There will be one water station on the 5km and 10km course near Aquatic Park, Mary Street. Temperatures in September are mild and the race will be run early in the day. Water will also be available at Kingsford Smith Oval.

Course Signage

Ample course signage will be visible along all routes. There will also be race marshals directing competitors around the course. For more detailed information see the written route details available under the course maps.

Toilets

Public toilets are located under the grandstand on Kingsford Smith Oval. There will also be a number of ‘portaloos’ on the William Edward St side of the oval.

Bag Drop Off

Bags can be stored free of charge at the top of the grandstand area at the oval from 6:30am. Plastic bags will be provided and you will be asked to write your bib number on the outside of the bag. Volunteers will then store your bag. At the conclusion of the event you will need to get your bag and then show the volunteer your bib number at the exit. Whilst all care will be taken, Lane Cove Fun Run will not be held responsible for the loss of items or valuables.

Bike and scooter storage

Bikes and scooters can be padlocked to the outside of the fence of Kingsford Smith Oval. Please do not bring your scooters or bikes inside the fence.

FINISH LINE SAFETY

Please clear the finish line quickly after finishing your race to ensure all competitors have room to finish. There is plenty of space on Kingsford Smith Oval to stretch or lie down!

FIRST AID and MEDICAL EMERGENCY

There will be a first aid tent at Kingsford Smith Oval. Officers of St John Ambulance will man this.

In the event of a medical emergency on the course notify the nearest Marshall.

Runners must give way immediately to safety vehicles.

ROAD CLOSURES and TRANSPORT

The organisers of the Lane Cove Community Fun Run thank all local residents for their patience and understanding during our community event. (See the race tracks)

Due to road closures we encourage participants to cycle, walk or scooter from Northwood, Riverview or Lane Cove. All roads into Longueville will be closed from 6:30am (with residents only able to use the roads until 7:15am.) Plenty of public parking is available at council car parks in Lane Cove shops and it is an easy downhill walk to the start of the race.

For the safety of runners there will be full and partial road closures along the entire route of the 2km, 5km and 10km events.

Due to road closures there will be disruptions to Longueville residents from 6:30am on 10th September through until 10:00am. Please contact info@lanecovefunrun.com.au for more information.
